Waw
Al Namus ( واو الناموس
) - It could be easily called the most fascinating volcano of all. Located
between sands of Sahara hundreds of kilometers from a nearest oasis. Mellow
hills of wide outer caldera are covered in black volcanic sand. While
inner crater has contrasting light brown color and is surrounded by blue,
green, and red saline lakes. Palm trees and other vegetation make out
of already stunning place a truly fairy tale area. There is no rose without
thorns though. Waw Al Namus in Arabic means Mosquito Pit and this place
was named for a reason. |
